Eyelash transplantation is a cosmetic surgical procedure to customize the appearance of the eyelashes. Eyelash transplantation can restore the eyelashes. Eyelash transplantation is done on the eyelid that has no eyelashes because of various reasons like cancer, burn, genetics, alopecia and more. The transplantation is usually performed on females but can also be done on males.
Eyelash Transplantation Procedure
During the procedure 25 to 50 hairs can be placed onto each eyelid depending on the amount of hair and desired appearance the patients wants. The procedure is done under local anesthetic or sedatives and takes around 2 hours to perform. The procedure is done in the same way like an eyebrow transplantation using the FUE method. The transplantation will start with follicles being removed from the donor site, which is the back of the head, using an automated FUE system device. Then the hair follicles are placed carefully into the eyelid.

Before Eyelash Transplantation
• Patients must have a shower and wash the hair before the transplantation
• Smoking must be quitted 24 hours before the transplantation
• Alcohol must be avoided from 3 days before the transplantation
• Patients must stop taking medication, herbal supplements and vitamins a week before the transplantation
• Patients must wear loose clothing like shirts which don’t pull over the hair
After Eyelash Transplantation
• Once the eyelashes grow they need to be shortened just like normal hair
• The eyelashes need to be curled to look more natural like normal eyelashes
• It can take around 6 months for the eyelashes to grow like normal
• Patients need to take extra care around the eyelash area especially after a few days from the transplantation

Definition
Alopecia – Disease also known as spot baldness, which is hair loss in particular, parts of the body.
Local Anesthesia – induces absence of sensation to a specific part of the body.
Sedative – given to relax the patient by reducing irritability / excitement.
FUE Method – Follicular Unit Extraction. The FUE method is a new method of hair transplantation which follicular units are removed individually from the donor site, so this means that the follicles will remain in the same state and grow normally in the recipient site

Donor site – the area which an organ or tissue is removed for transplantation or grafting.
First day of Eyelash Transplantation
The patients will attend a consultation with the surgeon and will be advised about the procedure and their condition. The patient will then be taken through a couple of tests that are required before the transplantation. If desired, patients can spend the day to rest and attend the transplantation the next day.
Eyelash transplantation will be performed. Hair transplantation is usually done with local anesthetic or sedatives. The transplantation will take around 2 hours to perform depending on the extent of transplantation. Once the transplantation is over the patient will be taken to a private room where they will be staying in hospital for resting. The surgeon will perform a check up and if they are approved to be in a good, healthy condition and the transplantation results are all successful; the patients are advised with post treatment care requirements and are ready to be discharged from hospital to their settlements.
Second day of Eyelash Transplantation
The patient must take care of the transplanted area and use any medication prescribed correctly and on time. The patient may take the day to rest or explore the city.
Third day of Eyelash Transplantation
Patients will attend a post transplantation appointment for a final check up, washing of the transplanted area and consultation. The patient will be advised on further medication. If everything is right then the patient is ready to return to their destination, or enjoy their time in Turkey.
