About PRP Therapy

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy is performed as a clinical procedure for many several types of treatments. It is performed with the patient’s own platelets and fibrin to be inserted into the areas to be treated. PRP Therapy Procedure

Before the procedure starts, a small amount of blood is taken from the patients arm. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge that spins at a high speed and separates the platelets from the other blood components. The patient will be given topical anesthesia which will numb the area to be treated within 30 minutes. The process to separate the platelets will take around 15 minutes to be ready. Once ready the concentrated PRP will be injected into the affected area. The process can take around 60-90 minutes depending on the complexity. The injected area will be cleaned and bandaged once the treatment is over.

Before PRP Therapy Procedure

  • Patients must avoid smoking and alcohol 3 days before the treatment
  • Patients must increase the amount of fluid intake the day of the treatment
  • Patients must avoid using medication like blood thinning agents and particular vitamins like E and A, a week before the treatment, as well as multivitamins – aspirin and other anti-inflammatory medications must be avoided from 7 days before the treatment
  • Patients must avoid heavy exercise a day before the treatment

After PRP Therapy Procedure

  • Smoking and Alcohol must be avoided for the next 3 days after the treatment and any longer if possible as smoking and drinking alcohol can increase healing time
  • Patients must not any blood thinning supplements or vitamins for a week after the treatment
  • Patients must avoid heavy exercise the day of the treatment

Trip Schedule of PRP Therapy

The patients will attend a consultation and if desired, PRP Therapy can be performed. The treatment will take between 60-90minutes to perform and an additional 30 minutes is needed for the area to be treated to numb using topical anesthesia. Once the treatment is over the patient will be advised with post treatment care requirements and are ready to be discharged from the clinic to their settlements and if everything is right, then the patient is ready to return to their destination or enjoy their time in Turkey.
